Abstract: The purpose of this grant is to fund career development services for pregnant teens and teen parents at MotherNet LA in Compton, California. The program will serve approximately 90 underserved pregnant teens and teen's parents who reside in the community of Watts, Lynwood, and Compton, California. The anticipated outcome of this proposal is to increase pregnant teens and teen parent's awareness about their career development options and skills, enhance workforce development skills and increase community engagement. By increasing self-efficacy around college preparation, job acquisition and career development, teenagers will have confidence to pursue their career of choice and be productive members of society. The literature supports how career development improves overall quality of life among teenage mothers and parents. Actual submission and/or funding of this grant was not required for successful completion of this thesis project.
